Believe it or not, our little baby is now four (yes, it's only taken a couple of weeks to write this post)! He was very excited and has been counting down the sleeps for the last week. I do feel sorry for parents with children born in January - it still seems close to Christmas even now and we've had problems thinking of presents to buy!
Originally I had planned to have a few children to the house for a party as we have done for the last couple of years. However, when I started adding up the children we would need to invite, the total kept climbing and my enthusiasm for hosting diminished rapidly! Instead, much to Beth's disapproval since she would be in school, we booked a party at the local soft play area.
Thankfully that worked really well - we scared everyone else away and had the entire play place to ourselves! All 22 kids had a ball hurtling around; sugar highs for all. :) Toby loved that all his friends came, especially Jack his best bud. I'm not looking forward to breaking it to him that when he starts reception (kindergarten) in September, they won't be at the same school - at least they'll reunite in seven years at high school!
After the party we had a very relaxed afternoon and evening with both sets of grandparents and far too much cake and toys.
