Yay, finished!

Just thought I'd do a quick update post to let you all know that I managed to finish the 10k in one piece. :)

It was cold and windy this morning but thankfully didn't rain. Around seven hundred and fifty people were registered for the run so it was a pretty good atmosphere. I latched onto a few people going around and managed to finish in 52 minutes (0:51:16) - better than I'd hoped. Obviously now I'll have to do another one to try and beat that time!

In other things, my tomatoes have been great this year (so modest!!) and have been piling up on the counter so I thought I'd make some pasta sauce with them tonight. It was very good - we added homegrown garlic from grandma and grandpa's garden along with some herbs (and perhaps a splash of wine) then roasted it for a while. Yum.

While I was making that, Beth drew and coloured a ballerina then glued on some rose petals for her skirt - very imaginative. I hope she's not too upset in the morning when the leaves have turned totally brown and yucky - I tried to get her to put them in the flower press for a week to preserve them a bit but she hasn't got any staying power just yet! Perhaps I'll raid the last of the flowers this week and press a few to use later.
Anyway, I hope you all have a great week - not much going on here this week, just getting use to the autumn weather.
